DAY  BY  DAY

Day 1 KUALA LUMPUR

You will be met at the airport and embark on your 1 hour transfer to Kuala Lumpur city centre. You have the afternoon free to rest after your flight. Tuck in an authentic Malaysian dinner in the bustling Chinatown after a relaxing swim in Southeast Asia's first Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Day 2  KUALA LUMPUR

Enjoy the day exploring the Malaysian capital city. We start the day with a visit to the Muzium Negara or National Musuem to learn about the history of the country. After a hearty lunch, we ascend Batu Caves to the temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. You will see the main sights and get a more in depth view of the city by taking local transport such as the monorail and  commuter trains. Dinner awaits at the Central Market. Be mesmorised by the beautifully-lit colonial buildings of British-Raj architecture at Merdeka Square.

 

Day 3  KUALA LUMPUR - MALACCA

We will catch an express coach to the UNESCO World heritage city of Malacca after breakfast. Spend the afternoon visiting the historical sites including the 500 year-old A Famosa fortress and Malaysia's oldest church on St. Paul's Hill. Experience the excitement offered by the weekend night market along Jonker Street. You will have the time to sample delicious snacks and purchase some local handicrafts.

Day 4  MALACCA

You will visit the History and Ethnography Museum, housed in the supposed oldest remaining Dutch historical building in the Orient. Malacca is home to the Straits Chinese or Peranankan, tuck in an authentic Nyonya lunch. Pay a visit to Cheng Hoon Teng temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. Chill out at one of the many cafes along Malacca River after dinner.

Day 5  MALACCA - IPOH

Say goodbye to the Historical city and head North for Ipoh, in the State of Perak. Spend the evening stolling around Ipoh Old Town and try a cup of the famous Ipoh White Coffee. Ipoh is regarded as a food heaven by many Malaysian, so you will be spoilt for choice for dinner. We recommend Chicken rice with beansprout and Horfun - rice noodle soup.

 

Day 6  IPOH - CAMERON HIGHLANDS

From Ipoh, we take a short coach journey to the Cameron Highlands. This is where all the tea is grown in Malaysia and the area is famous for its stunning scenery and cool temperate climate. After lunch, we embark on Trail No.4, starts from the Century Pines Resort to the Tudor style Ye Olde Smokehouse Hotel & Restaurant. Nearby is a small waterfall and a watch tower from which you will be rewarded a beautiful view of the highlands.

Day 7  CAMERON HIGHLANDS

Drive up to 6666 ft Gunung Brinchang in a Land Rover, one of the highest mountain point accessible by road in Peninsular Malaysia. On a clear day, you will be blessed with the magnificent view of the mountains and picturesque rolling tea garden. After the view point stop at Gunung Brinchang; a short interpretive walk into the Mossy Forest will be conducted by our guide that would reveal some of the exotic floras; such as the Pitcher plant, Orchids, Primitive Ferns, Medicinal Plants & Spices. We will also visit to the Sungai Palas ‘BOH’ Tea Factory to learn about the tea production. You will enjoy your afternoon tea at the beautiful ‘Tearia’ Shop, overlooking over the tea hills. After a full day of exploring, treat yourself to a Steamboat dinner - an Asian version of fondue, where various ingredients are dipped into simmering stock.

Day 8  CAMERON HIGHLANDS - PENANG

We will have time to visit the Ee Feng Gu Honey Bee Farm and Kea Farm where honey, bee pollen and royal jelly, is collected and bottled to be sold as local produce in markets. After lunch, we travel North to the Pearl of the Orient - Penang Island. We will stay for 4 nights in the charming capital city, Georgetown. It is well known for its extensive variety of local hawker fare.

Day 9  PENANG

Today you will take a guided walking tour of George Town seeing the history and heritage of this UNESCO city. Temples, markets and stunning architecture are all concentrated in a small area making it great for a walking tour. The Penang State Museum showcases the rich history and heritage of Penang in a colonial building. We will visit the 18th Century Fort Cornwallis, it is the largest standing fort in Malaysia. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Khoo Kongsi, a large Chinese clanhouse with elaborate and highly ornamented architecture, a mark of the dominant presence of the Chinese in Penang. The seafront Eastern & Oriental Hotel is a beautiful colonial-style hotel that was established in 1885 by the Sarkies Brothers. You have a free evening after dinner.

Day 10  PENANG

After breakfast, we head to the Penang National Park at Teluk Bahang. A short boat ride from the Park Headquarter is the pristine Monkey Beach. From the beach, we embark on a hike along a trail through primary rain forest to the Muka Head lighthouse. You will be greeted by a few eagles soaring majesticly above the forest canopy. A spectacular view of Northern Penang and the Straits of Malacca is guaranteed from the top of this 133 year-old lighthouse. We will have picnic lunch at the base of the lighthouse. You have a free afternoon chilling or swimming at Monkey Beach before being picked up for dinner.

Day 11  PENANG

A final day in Penang, you will visit the beautifully preserved Suffolk House, the earliest of the two buildings is notable for serving as the residence of Francis Light, the founder of the British settlement on the Prince of Wales Island, commonly known as Penang Island. After a light refreshment at Suffolk House, we head to the Kek Lok Si temple or "Temple of Supreme Bliss". Facing the sea and commanding an impressive view, it is the best known temples on the island and the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. After a dinner at Air Itam town, we ascend the 2,733 ft Penang Hill on the furnicular railway to enjoy the cooler climate as well as the nightview of George Town and mainland Malaysia.

Day 12  PENANG - KUALA LUMPUR

We bid farewell to Penang Island and cross the Penang Straits on a public ferry. Our train journey from Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur will take less than 4 hours. After lunch at Brickfield, we explore the scenes ofthe happening Little India of KL. A short ride on the LRT (light rail transit) will bring us to the base of the 451.9 metre tall Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin structure in the World. We venture up the Skybridge that connects both towers and the Observation Deck at 85th floor for spectacular views over the city! After dinner at KLCC Shopping Mall, head to Malaysia's highest Skybar - Marini's on 57 to see the sunset.

Day 13  KUALA LUMPUR

A final day in Malaysia, with a last chance to enjoy some superb food and buy some souvenirs for family and friends at Central Market. After checking out from your hotel, you will be escorted to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to catch your flight home.
